We set out on Monday morning for the drive up river to the hot springs. This is supposed to be a scenic drive and a good place for spotting moose. We got lucky! Not only did we (thank you, Chris ☺️) spot a lovely moose, but we also found a juvenile moose right behind her. Chris and Arlene saw the bushes moving and knew something else was back there - sure enough, we had our moose plus one. We finished the route all the way up to the hot springs with no more moose, but it was a good pit stop at the springs and we turned back around. The road was built specifically to get to the springs, so not much else along the way other than the beautiful scenery.
